Description
This photo was taken by Eskil Skott, my 16-year-old grandson, with his smart phone. He is delighted to have this posted here. This is the observation tower at the Robinson Preserve, one of the pride-and-joy outdoor natural sites in Southwest Florida. Wonderful open space abounds at this preserve, a 600+-acre coastal preserve located in northwestern Bradenton. There are hiking paths, kayak and canoe waterways, bridges, picnic spots, a primitive campground, mangrove forests and this 53-foot-tall tower with a wide-open view of the Tampa Bay area. The preserve is being expanded by several hundred acres, which will include a new kayak launch, hiking and running trails, viewing mound, additional parking and restrooms, an education center for different classes, and expansive paddling trails!
