The anhinga is an extrovert of the bird world. Loud, demonstrative, gangly young arguing about and fighting for food morsels delivered by the parents, make them a treat to watch and photograph. One wonders how the parents survive the feeding frenzy, with stiletto-like beaks jabbing at their faces. The range of the anhinga in North America is limited to the southeastern US and Mexican coastal areas and Cuba. These particular anhingas were found at the Audubon Preserve in Venice, Florida.
Looking for the perfect capture remains my quest. To that effect, roaming about with a motor home seems a perfect fit. My wife and dogs and I will be out there whenever possible to capture the views available, and those unique moments to share with our friends and family. Join us in this quest.
