Description

These are doors of one of the many sheds, garages and workshops, created out of recycled materials and located at Solomon's Castle, in Ona, Florida. Far off the beaten track, deep in farm and cattle country near Sarasota and Bradenton, near Arcadia, Florida, this amazing estate and museum transport you on a wacky nostalgic journey through history. Essentially all the hardware on these doors are originals, built by Howard Solomon, master craftsman. The raw wood grain attracted my eyes and provides much of the character of this photo. I am happy to announce that this image won a Merit Award in the Sarasota Meadows Juried Photo Competition, February, 2016.
