Description
It is hard to mis-identify the very loud, coarse honking/squawk of this large bird, the Great Blue Heron (Ardea herodias). It has an extensive range, throughout North, Central, and South America, and has a beak well-adapted to catching small fish, though the diet is very variable. It mainly inhabits areas near water. They nest in trees.
